1982 From shady meadowsto camping on the farm
The history of our campsite dates back to 1982, when my parents first opened the doors of Campagne Brun. Back then, life was simpler and closer to nature.
Every evening, my grandfather and his sheep would cross the campsite, lit by the campers’ kerosene lanterns. These stories still ring in the ears of some of our now grown-up customers.
Every summer, some of them return, drawn by the charm and nostalgia of these memories. La Campagne Brun continues to be a place where traditions are perpetuated and new stories are created, while remaining true to its heritage.
1995 From Camping to Farming
at the Restanques campsite
1995 was the year of major changes, as a wind of modernity began to blow over the Les Restanques campsite. Its transformation didn’t happen in a day or a year, but over decades. A colossal amount of work was carried out, much of it by my father and brother. We built 3 sanitary blocks, built numerous stone walls, hence the name “Les Restanques”, marked out the pitches with vine hedges, planted numerous trees, installed mobile homes for the residents, etc….
These major changes marked a turning point. These transformations have enhanced the camper experience, while preserving the essence and charm for which our campground is renowned.
Today, “Les Restanques” harmoniously combines modern comfort with the beauty of its natural surroundings, offering visitors a unique and unforgettable place to stay.
2016 From Noëlle and Mauriceto Alix and Marc
In 2016, the campsite began a new chapter in its history. Alix and Marc have taken over the reins of this iconic venue
Camping Les restanques has always been more than just a vacation destination. Founded by Alix’s parents, it has been the scene of many memories for generations of campers. It was in this spirit that Alix and Marc took over the campsite, with the aim of perpetuating this tradition of hospitality and conviviality.
Since their arrival, they have breathed new life into the campsite, while preserving its authentic charm. They have added their own personal touch, modernized the facilities and diversified the activities on offer, all to the delight of our campers.
In taking over Camping Les Restanques, Alix and Marc have not only taken over a business, but also a family history and a place that is dear to them and to many campers. They are determined to keep this family spirit alive and to offer their guests an unforgettable experience in the heart of the Gorges du Verdon.
